I grew up in upstate New York, catching tadpoles and butterflies that were stashed in a backyard Adirondack lean-to. Never a great student, I began writing at an early age about the things I loved. The natural world ignited my imagination, from cloud formations to animals of all kinds. I started horseback riding and skiing in grade school and continue to enjoy both in my 70’s. I was fortunate to have parents and teachers who recognized my determination to live an active, outdoor life, and encouraged learning and exploration. My husband and I raised our children with the same values.
Currently we live in two beautiful places, dividing our time between Amelia Island, Florida, and Williamstown, Massachusetts.
