Edmonia Lewis....a woman of color, who faced racial and gender discrimination to become a world-famous sculptor. This is a children's picture book for ages 6 to 9 telling the story of Edmonia's dream to become a sculptor. The story touches on the discrimination Edmonia suffered in a gentle sensitive way for children to understand without losing it's impact on her life. The emphasis is on Edmonia's courageous determination to not let anyone or any prejudice prevent her from her dream.
Bobbie Reno has resided near Albany, NY her entire life. Bobbie spent 18 years as a Court Clerk working for a total of six judges. For three years she was a Committee Clerk for a New York State Senator. A former member of the Board of Directors for the Boght Arts Center in Latham, NY, Bobbie has been an artist her entire life. “I can’t remember a time I didn’t draw.” She presently is the Town of East Greenbush, NY Historian. Bobbie is the author of a children’s picture book “Hattie Hall is Really Too Tall!”
