The Artist
Adele Johnson lived in Fly Creek Otsego County New York from 1975 to 2020.
She has a BFA from Wittenberg University and studied art history at la Sorbonne and the École du Louvre in Paris. She did studio work at Wittenberg University Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris and The New School in New York City.
Before moving to Otsego County she worked in crafts and did commissioned artwork. She taught art at the Harrington Park Saturday School in Harrington Park New Jersey.
During the 29 years she worked in the research library of the The New State Historical Association she had over 60 works of art published in New York History and various books pamphlets and leaflets. Her line of note cards has been sold for decades. In retirement she has devoted more time to her painting and drawing.
