Jim Flanigan’s family moved to Wynantskill when he was 5 years old. He attended the Main Avenue School, then graduated from Catholic Central High School in Troy. He earned a B.S. degree from St. Lawrence University and an M.S.from UAlbany. He taught high school math for 2 years and college psychology for 4 years, before being employed for 35 years as Executive Director of the Rensselaer ARC. He also served for 24 years on the North Greenbush Town Board. His books draw on all of these experiences.
