The souvenirs are gone, but the stories remain.

“I’ve been throwing things in the Mohawk River ever since I can remember. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not throwing junk or garbage in the river. I usually throw good stuff. I know that sounds stupid, but I love this river. I don’t want to pollute it. What sometimes happens, though, is I need to get rid of something, for one reason or another, and the river’s always right there for me. In fact, sometimes, I wish I could go down there and pull up all the stuff I’ve thrown in. Some of it could be valuable now. Of course, it wouldn’t be the same today after all these years, so I guess I’ll just leave everything down there. After all, I still have the memories stored away, and I could tell you all the stories if you’d like to hear them.”
