As a member of 'The Greatest Generation' Robert Also has his own unique story to tell. Raised in both The United States and England, he spent the years of his childhood moving back and forth across the Atlantic, maintaining connections to New England in Berkshire County, Massachusetts, and establishing roots in London as well. As a young man he joined the War effort, flying thirty-one missions in B-24 heavy bombers over Hitler's Europe, eventually becoming a Squadron and Deputy Group Lead Navigator. 34 Kensington Square beautifully evokes the nostalgia of a bygone era, when people sailed from New York to Southampton on large ships, travelled by trains in grand style and exchanged hand-written letters across the miles. Recalling a colorful life that spanned a transatlantic childhood, and a coming of age in the midst of World War II, Robert Alsop offers an admirable and unforgettable legacy to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as future generations.

ROBERT CHAPIN ALSO graduated from Harvard College and the University of Virginia Law School. He enjoyed an esteemed law career and is a life member of The Massachusetts Bar Association. He and his wife Suzette have been married for over seventy-two years and have four children, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He has been an Overseer of the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the Commodore of a small sailing club.
