Originally called Partridgefield, Peru, Massachusetts was incorporated in 1771 and grew steadily, at one time boasting a population of 1,361 residents. The Troy Book Makers is pleased to reproduce this fascinating anecdotal history of the town with the highest elevation in the Commonwealth.
