In Paddling the Quiet Waters of Mid-Eastern New York: Albany, Columbia, Greene, Rensselaer, Schenectady, and Schoharie Counties, guidebook author Russell Dunn picks up where the first book in his trilogy left off, introducing readers to the numerous flat-water lakes and ponds in the Greater Capital Region. Dunn’s book is a compendium of historical facts interwoven with maps, illustrations, and directions on how to get there, and where to go once you arrive.

“You will be flat-out amazed how much there is to learn from Russell Dunn’s gentle teaching.”
--Fred LeBrun, Times Union Columnist.

“…Russell Dunn is doing us a great service, making it easier to get out paddling and to see the stories behind the scenery, giving us reason to care.”
--Alan Mapes, former Chief of the Bureau of Environmental Education for NYSDEC, and owner of North River Kayaks.

“Anything you would ever want to know about the area you are paddling through is right here. Reading this book is a treat.”
--Scott Keller, Trails and Special Projects Director, Hudson River Valley Greenway.
