Martin Kelly’s play was written many years ago to illustrate the Boston Busing crisis of school desegregation during the 1960s. This theme is relevant in today’s society. The year 2020 brought a pandemic which disproportionately affected people of color. This in turn shows us that many of the same injustices of the 60’s continue to exist today. The new civil rights movement leaders of the 2000’s are Black Lives Matters activists fighting for an anti-racist America.
