Reluctant Aerialist is the story of four intertwined souls, each of whom must suddenly deal with life’s unexpected and recalcitrant changes. Eugene has spent his entire life seeking fulfillment through work and family, only to have those static moorings violently ripped away. Sharing in that unanticipated havoc, his wife Sile also finds her once placid world torn asunder by a series of malefactors who come at her from all sides. Chester, a family friend, has suffered an irrevocable loss of his own, leaving his worldly foundation severely shattered as well. Despair propels him to abandon those hurtful memories and wander aimlessly, looking for both solace and solitude among strangers. And finally, casting off all of the polite reins of society, Jerry, a truly unredeemable scoundrel, appears and while fully embracing his outlaw life, drags all of their stories together.
